Spinning is a non-impact aerobic exercise that takes place on specially designed spinning bikes. While pedalling to motivating music, Henry talks you through a series of workout routines designed to exercise your whole body. During each exercise, you will be seated or standing, varying the resistance on the bike and your pace, to simulate cycling uphill, downhill or on the flat. Unlike other fitness classes, Spinning requires little coordination, it great for  all ages, shapes and fitness levels. Although you follow Henry’s direction, you are always in control of your resistance and pace, so you decide the intensity of your workout.

Spinning is an excellent whole body aerobic workout, that burns approximately 750 calories during a 1 hour class. Even at high intensity, other cardio equipment won’t burn that many calories in such a short time. So, if you want to burn, burn, burn those calories and are looking for the quick-fix to weight-loss, this is it!

A well structured and planned Spinning class, includes both endurance and cardiovascular training during your workout. At random points in your class, you will be required to vary your pace, which will stimulate your heart rate. Heart health and lung capacity are two of the main benefits of Spinning. As you work harder during your class, you will learn to control your breathing, which may help you with anxiety and help lower your heart rate.

Unlike other Spinning classes, Fitness Matrix in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne offers a unique and personal approach to Spinning, as Henry is a Personal Trainer, so he has the knowledge to design a unique class and takes pride in this, specifically matching each exercise to the best music, old and new.
