I have been training with Henry for 8 months.  I chose to use a personal trainer because I knew that if I joined a gym I wouldn’t go often enough (if at all) to see any benefit, as I find gyms can often be intimidating places, with lots of machines you don’t know how to use, and queues for the machines everyone wants to use, so I tried a session with Henry and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.  Admittedly I could barely do a single press up and got out of breath doing very little, but Henry was so encouraging that I had no doubt that I would improve.  Now, eight months later, I still look forward to every personal training session because I know that they will be fun and that I will be challenged, but not so much that I want to give up or leaving feeling like I have failed in some way.  Also, if I am particularly tired or have had a long day (or night shift), I know that Henry will understand and the session can be made a bit easier, because that’s what personal trainers do, they alter everything so that it works for each individual.

It’s the small things that make me notice what a difference personal training has made, like running up stairs while talking to people without feeling out of breath. The change has been so gradual, each exercise is made a little bit harder each time and I only move on to more challenging exercises when I am ready, which means I never feel like the exercises Henry asks me to do are impossible. I always know that with a bit of effort I will get there, but now, I think throwing a 5kg ball or lifting a 16kg bar is easy, when 8 months ago I wouldn’t have been able to lift either.

I would say, that if the thought of personal training has crossed your mind, then you should give Henry a try.  It is more expensive than joining a gym, but you get so much out of it. You get a programme designed for you and you only pay for the training you do. Henry is brilliant at motivating you and whereas if you joined a gym, you can pay hundreds of pounds each year for something you never use.

Henry has been my Personal Trainer for the last three months.  He assessed my fitness and tailored a programme suited to my age and physical condition.  I have improved my fitness and mental health tremendously, due to a varied and interesting training programme.  At first I thought having Henry as my Personal Trainer was expensive, but have since discovered that others are far dearer.  Henry is always ready to give attention to detail and willing to spend time getting things right.
